Pulau Redang again.

the coolest bit about Redang is there is no jetty anywhere near the beautiful lagoon. and that is a brilliant thing because a man made structure like that would have spoilt the beauty of the island. so visitors to the island would have to transfer from the high speed boat to a small landing craft such as the one above to reach the island.

while snapping this pic i cant help but see its resemblance to this [link] D-DAY pictureof allied soldier landing on Omaha beach. the transport boat in this picture even came equipped with a ramp! its no Higgins boat but the similarity is uncanny. instead of weapons and army issued backpacks we all carry cameras and Deuter backpacks. war and peace........ color and black an white. nice juxtaposition eh?
